Zenith 'Award' Hearing Aid w/ case
Content Description
This portable mono-pack, or body-type, hearing aid makes use of four transistors for amplification. The device is composed of thin chromed metals and gray plastics, overall roughly rectangular--2 1/8"x 1 3/4"x 3/4". The manufacturer's name is embossed upon the face. The combination volume control/on-off dial and tone selector are both located along the artifact's sides, adjacent to their inscribed labels: OFF -->LOUDER / HIGH / FULL. The microphone itself is recessed into a circular depression, looped by the garment clip, and covered with a perforated plate and an embossed brass manufacturer's logo--a crowned coat-of-arms. The back is inscribed: Zenith / AWARD / the royalty of hearing / 8513209. The single battery [absent] may be accessed through a hinged compartment at the bottom of this side. A twisting, thinly insulated cord runs from a receptacle, at the top, to an air-conduction receiver ear-piece. A hinged lid bisects the black faux-leather case. The interior is outfitted with black satin and dark felt; the tray is indented, allowing the instrument to fit snugly in place. The box is overall rectangular with rounded corners--1 1/8"x 3 1/2"x 5"
