typical veterinary brass spring lancet in leather-covered wooden case; outside of case is wrapped in brown leather that is heavily cracked/chipped/worn, w/ Royal English Seal "Dieu et Mon Droit" engraving on the center of the lid; small iron latch holds the case closed; interior is lined with a soft white (grey-stained) leather w/ fitted slot for lancet; lancet is a typical design with a brass case, a brass trigger bar, and iron lever and blade; blade is longer than usual, indicating veterinary use; blade mounting screw has come loose, rendering the device non-functional; blade or lancet may not match case, as blade doesn't fit properly w/o sticking out of the case; handmade, the case has a basic etching depicting vines or plants on either side, with a slightly decorated trigger bar
